Sonia Zammit has trained in and works as a Psychedelic Assisted Therapist. Sonia has experience supporting medicine assisted therapy as a clinician collaboratively with Authorised Prescribing Psychiatrists within a private clinic setting . Sonia also has experience in supporting medicine assisted therapy as a clinician within  on clinical research trails.

 

The practical experience has provided Sonia capacity to assist with:

  • an understanding of the safety, eligibility, and effectiveness  of medicine assisted treatment
  • support for ongoing integration of experience and support application into daily wellbeing for those who have accessed accessed Medicine Assisted Therapy.
  • Support for those who have had challenging experience and continue to experience ongoing challenges following use of psychedelic substances in both clinical and non clinical settings.

Medicine Assisted Therapy is legal under the support of Authorised Prescribers in Australia  for the use of Psilocybin  for treatment Resistant Depression and MDMA for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. A harm minimisation approach is recognised as important pathway to support peoples healing and to support integration of various experience which may arise from the use of substances.
